Project Summary / Description:
This project was formed during my (Anna Douglas) PhD, when I was studying materials for beyond Li-ion battery technologies and kept coming to the conclusion that advanced carbon structures are ideal for all battery chemistries, but their production method is incredibly energy intensive, expensive, and prohibitive to widespread use in batteries. This is how I started studying alternative ways to produce carbon structures using more sustainable techniques, and the ability to harness waste atmospheric carbon to produce carbon nanomaterials in an energy efficient way became the most attractive path to pursue.
