Project Summary / Description:
We are a small rooftop solar player with focus on the residential/ institutional and MSME segment. We plan to set up 10000 rooftop solar plants in the urban markets of India and also light up 10000 households with solar home lighting systems over the next 5 years. So far we have set up operations across Maharashtra, Goa, Gujurat and other key cities like Bangalore, Delhi NCR with close to 350 rooftop solar plants and have lit up 1000 homes with our solar home lighting kits in the Palghar district of Maharashtra. With solar power we believe we can make a difference to the lives of people and the environment at large and hence we have focussed on influencing thousands of home owners to install rooftop solar plants at their premises. We have developed a unique behaviour change model to accelerate adoption of solar power among the millions of home owners. With initial set up costs being a key barrier we are rolling out relevant and customised payment options for our customers so that they can pay as low as 30% and set up their own rooftop solar plants. We believe that the behaviour change model coupled with the financing options will help us accelerate our growth and achieve our goals.

How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
Urban india - solar power helps consumers switch from carbon based sources to renewable energy offsetting 25 tons of carbon footprint over 25 years for each KW capacity plant Rural india - solar power helps reduce dependence on candle light/ kerosene oil which r all carbon based sources of light.
Best Estimate of GHG Avoidance/Reduction of This Project (Tonnes CO2 Equivalent/Year):
