Touched by the plight of low-income families that could hardly afford fuel for their heating needs, Kenneth developed an energy-efficient stove targeting bottom of the pyramid consumers. His interactions with women from Kenya allowed him to see the direct relationship between the high rates of waterborne diseases and lack of access to affordable energy. We provided women with food but sometimes they had no means to cook it let alone boil their water. I saw a big challenge that needed to be addressed, he says. He has brought so much joy in painful circumstances for poor and vulnerable households.

Women , children and men have improved health , increased household income and in addressing the key driver of climate change , women , children and youths will benefit immensely. Women will also be targeted as part of the Last mile entrepreneurs ( LMEs ). To mitigate conflicts at home due to increased empowerment of women economically working groups with families the project is working at establishing socially and culturally acceptable interventions in order to have sustainability of impact. Through this Men will be encouraged to support their women and youths since the benefit reduces burden on them as head of households. Men will benefit directly with well cooked food , cost savings from reduced fuel, health and lighting costs.
