I started Terascale as an extension of my PhD work at Harvard University in making perovskite solar cell materials by chemical vapor deposition. In thinking about this space, I realized a potential manufacture process that would enable high efficiency, large area panels. I started this company to pursue this idea and am actively developing it.

Even though I am a solo founder at this point, I have wanted to make gender diversity a key point of my business. I have interviewed a potential female co-founder I met at Tufts University and am continuing to seek out other qualified women and minorities who are passionate about solar energy to join the team. Terascale will aim to be a leader on gender equality in the company by having a high female:male ratio compared to the industry average. I also believe in solar energy as tool to provide cheap energy to countries across the world who have traditionally been net energy importers. Solar energy will help these countries realize their energy independence.
