Project Summary / Description:
A new advocacy-centered NGO that mobilizes building industry professionals to push for climate action. The primary focus of our work will be citizen-style advocacy for buildings-related policy change at the local/city scale, and secondarily on buildings-related federal legislation, state policy and corporate action. Similar to a ‚ Physicians for Human Rights‚ concept, the plan is to mobilize individuals (not companies) to show up for climate action, bringing professional perspective to strengthen the case for strong policies and action to transform the buildings sector.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
This woman-led organization is structured and purposed to lift up traditionally underrepresented individuals in our community. Our leadership group has been actively constituted to be under half white and under half male, as well as bringing strong representation from younger emerging professionals (of the 30 in the group at this point, 5 are under 30). We will be fighting for the types of policy change that will address historic injustice and environmental racism in the built environment.
