Project Summary / Description:

The project is driven by our desire to wean us all from oil-based energy. It was enabled by some envelope-pushing physics that has demonstrated that certain structures of semiconductors produce a voltage across themselves. This implies that electrical energy can be drawn from the structures, which in turn draw upon environmental heat. This leads to direct, lossless conversion from heat to electricity without environmental damage. We simply went to work to develop theory, built and tested prototypes, and sought funding for further development.

Our devices will generate electricity at lower levelized cost than any other currently available source. Lowering energy costs will be relatively more valuable to those on the low end of the economic scale. This will increase their economic security, reducing the pressure for multiple children desired for old-age support. This will in turn reduce the child-raising burden on women, giving them more time for education and participation in the economy.
