Project Summary / Description:
With modular TrackerSleds, rural electric cooperatives can generate rather than purchase power to boost their rural economies. TrackerSled's pre-engineered mobile platform obviates surveys, pile driving, specialized engineering, and lengthy queues, simplifying solar farm development for distribution co-ops. Concurrently, co-ops can conspire with ranchers and farmers to de-risk carbon drawdown on their fields, mitigating climate change. Regenerative farming is the most scalable, affordable, and immediate solution to climate change, but its adoption has been anemic. With TrackerSled leases, co-ops will give farmers and ranchers the financial headroom to experiment with regenerative practices to ground-truth their profitability.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
TrackerSled builds on a cooperative model established in the 1930s in rural American that for-profit energy companies abandoned. In this contemporary iteration, rural electric cooperatives can generate rather than purchase power for the first time in their history, boosting their rural economies while small farmers and ranchers draw down carbon. TrackerSleds can afford small minority farmers an outsized benefit by providing $16,800 of annual income on 12 acres of land while cover crops regenerate its soil. TrackerSleds provide an onramp for small farmers and ranchers to ween themselves off agrochemicals and industrial methods, allowing them to increase profits without access to capital.
