Project Summary / Description:
Ven offers charging infrastructure-as-a-service through a complete subscription-based, managed EV charging solution for Commercial Real Estate (CRE) companies. A vertically integrated charging solution from installation to operation and lifecycle management, Ven does it all. The complexity is taken away from the CRE customer for a monthly $100 fee and through Ven’s dynamic pricing and user group management, the CRE is encouraged to price charging accordingly and generate additional revenue, with a 10% transaction fee going to Ven. Why focus on e-Mobility? Transportation is the largest contributor (27%) of US GHG emissions. Even only comparing an EV and an internal combustion engine, the lifetime of an EV has a 60% smaller carbon footprint (US EPA, 2022); therefore making changes in the transportation sector is one of the most impactful ways to reduce GHG. Ven was formed in January 2023 as a c-corp by Daphne and Jessica, who combined have over 2 decades of experience in the technology sector with a record of delivering ambitious new technology products globally.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses), Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Even only focusing on EVs, not only are they costly, public charging is mostly offered in economic centers, while 78% of US adults have no EV charging access at their home (Whalen, Lisa, March 2022). To install a residential charger, a homeowner often needs to make adjustments to the electrical system, upgrade the home energy sources, or even install solar on their rooftop. On top of that, low income neighborhoods are less likely to have an upgraded electrical system, which does not allow all homeowners to charge their vehicle at home. We are creating a marketplace for e-Mobility charging, starting with a focus on EVs and including other electric vehicles in the future such as e-bikes and e-scooters. Both the supply- and demand side will benefit from this solution. Homeowners can earn back their upfront investment and energy bills and e-Mobility users will not all be required to install a home charger or upgrade their electrical system. Our diverse founder team, both women, one from the Netherlands and one from Kansas US, has made it their mission to enable global e-Mobility adoption regardless of someone‚ socioeconomic background.

Website:
Since we have been developing a technical solution relying on sensitive IP, we chose not to have an online presence until the end of February, when we plan to launch our website to create more visibility and start promoting our product and increase the number of users on our platform.
Mission Statement:
The mission of Ven is to reduce point-wise CO2 transportation emissions by improving the e-Mobility (EVs, e-bikes, e-scooters, etc.) experience and as a result increasing adoption. Ven, Inc. is focused on a single product application initially for EV charging, which connects EV drivers and e-bike riders with residential and commercial chargers additionally to public chargers. We want to become the marketplace for all e-Mobility charging and include all available charging options and let the users negotiate prices and make payments directly. Policy, regulation, and infrastructure are falling increasingly behind the demand for EVs, and existing charging infrastructure and services have poor user experience and propagate socioeconomic disparities. Ven, Inc. has detailed plans to change this narrative. We will cover the entirety of the US by the end of 2023. Ven, Inc. is located in Seattle and is a global product.
