Project Summary / Description:

We Do GREEN Organization (WDGO) is a legally registered, youth-founded and, youth-led environmental Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) operating on the Rwanda’s territory since 2018. Our main goal is to empower our young people to get involved with environmental protection at the local level – specifically reforestation and afforestation for carbon capture, biodiversity protection, ecosystem and landscape restoration, solidarity and sustainable livelihoods. We Do GREEN is inspired by the need to tackle extreme systemic poverty facing many communities in the developing world – poverty that is compounded by ongoing environmental degradation, particularly as a result of the global climate crisis.

How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:

Youth comprise 70% of Rwanda's population. Rwanda's goal to become net zero emission and climate resilient by 2050 can be accelerated by meaningfully youth contribution in its climate policy formulation and implementation as active and responsible citizens who are inhriting complex issues of climate change, biodiversity loss and unemployement.

Youth remain at the margins of policy and decision making processes, this initiative seeks to bridge this gap by empowering them to become agents of transformative change in pursuit of sustainable development that leaves no ecosystem or individual behind.

We Do GREEN teaming up with likely-minded organization of the world to advocate for a more just, inclusive and developed world where not only human enjoy their rights but also animals and plants too- living in harmony with all life on earth and that's how we can be able to enjoy a better life of today and for our grandchildren.
