Project Summary / Description:

Our project revolves around creating a small wind turbine 2 kw that matches the power profile of a solar panel. When studying the incredible growth in solar projects, we reasoned that having a compatible wind generator that can use existing, underutilized, inverter capacity during off peak hours, this will drive down the installed cost for wind energy. Development will focus on combining existing high efficiency power electronics with our unique magnetic drive system to create a low cost, high capacity wind energy system that a solar installation's electronics will see as just another solar panel. By putting the gearbox and the generators on ground level we will cut the time and cost of installation while maintenance cost will be dramatically reduced. This 2K system can be a standalone power producer or will work with a solar panels, battery pack is a complete off grid package. This system could be installed anywhere in the world with minimal expertise in installation techniques. The whole wind turbine system solar panels, battery pack could be installed on a 20 foot trailer to make it a portable power station. (see attached )
