The story began in 2019 as a result of ban of importation of rice into Nigeria, where I ventured into local rice processing, and discover the amount of husk at the mill, also rate deforestation, and effect of chemical fertilizer
Nigeria is losing its last remaining patches of thick forests, and at an alarming rate. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, the country has lost 50 per cent of its forest cover in two decades and is losing at 5 per cent a year,(approximately 350,000-400,000 hectares per year ), the highest in the world. At this rate, experts warn, the country would lose all its forests by 2047. And a prime reason for this is Nigeria‚ growing appetite for charcoal‚Äîa cheap source of energy produced through pyrolysis, or burning of wood under high temperature in the absence of air. 
In Nigeria about 8 million metric tonnes of rice is produced in 2017, which gives rise to 1.6 million metric tonnes of rice husk per year , with no worthwhile uses.
Harmful effect of chemical fertilizer to our environment such as water way pollution, chemical burn to crops, Increase in air pollution, acidification of soil and mineral depletion of soil.

Zecochar serves as an alternative to charcoal produced by using waste from rice mill (rice husk) to serve as a source of heat energy for cooking and heating at the same time produces ash for biofertilizer.

Zimaj Crafts produced Zecochar (a charcoal briquettes) to serve as an alternative source of heat energy instead of charcoal produced by deforestation, for the low income families who uses charcoal as their source of heat energy.
