Through the deployment of this mini-grid, we have provided sustainable electricity access and supply to the community, providing reliable power supply for people to run their businesses efficiently and sustainably. Our mini-grid has displaced completely the use of petrol and diesel generators in the community, eliminating and reducing drastically the carbon footprint of the community. There is available power supply for the primary healthcare centre in the community to always administer quality care service to pregnant women and children in community, increased security for girls and children to walk freely at night. Young people were gainfully employed as manual workers during the construction phase of the project, and 2 persons have been employed full-time as operator and security personnel. Overall, the quality of life in the community has improved immensely, enabling small businesses to run sustainably with the elimination of petrol generators and its associated high operational cost and health hazards.
