ASA NWURA is committed to empowering women who are traditionally underrepresented in the climate movement. Over 80% of our informal waste pickers are women, and we prioritize their empowerment through various initiatives. We provide fair wages, safe working conditions, and access to health insurance, ensuring their economic well-being. By offering skills training and education, we enhance their capacity to contribute meaningfully to the recycling process. Furthermore, our health insurance coverage meets a key need for women, encouraging their general well-being as well as the well-being of their families. We not only improve the socioeconomic well-being of female waste pickers via our initiatives, but we also actively engage them in sustainable practices. ASA NWURA believes that empowering women is critical to developing a resilient and inclusive climate movement, and we are committed to making a positive, long-term difference for women in our community.
