Our project adopts an inclusive approach, empowering underrepresented groups in the climate movement, particularly women. They play a central role in decision-making, contributing to climate-resilient agriculture and reviving traditional ecological knowledge. We promote gender equality through tailored training programs, ensuring equitable access to resources.

Communities of color, youth, and those vulnerable to climate impacts are integral. Our initiatives prioritize youth involvement, creating platforms for diverse voices. Collaborations with local organizations amplify marginalized voices, fostering a bottom-up approach.

Intertwining climate action with cultural preservation, our project addresses environmental and social justice intersections. This inclusive strategy aims to rectify historical disparities, fostering resilience and equity in response to climate change challenges. Our commitment aligns with creating a diverse and inclusive climate movement.

Mission Statement:

CEGGI’s mission is “to empower grassroots communities in Uganda through a community ecological governance, gender equality, and social justice approach”

We  assist  communities  in Uganda to build climate change resilience, secure land rights, promote seed and food  sovereignty, ensure food and water security, and rejuvenate key biodiversity territories.
