Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The project was initially available in semi-arid environments or agroecological zone where the impact of climate change becomes more recurrent. In this environment, recurrent drought due to lack of rainfall is the main factor that has been affecting our mothers, sisters, and young brothers who are leaving in the project area. In the local area, works in side home are done by women including fetching of water and collecting fuelwood. Lack of water and fuel wood has compelled our mothers and sisters to travel long distance just to fetch water and collect fuelwood. While travelling long distance (more than an hour), they are exposed for many problems such as rape and other problems. Not only this, but also they do not send their children to school on time because they do not come to home early before schooling. Therefore, this project has at least reduced the burden of women by making availability of fuelwood (planting selected trees used for fuelwood) and forages for their animals. They used the project sites as source of feed for their animals. This means that, they do not spent more time in traveling distances for searching of grass for their animal.
