This venture benefits local women to focus on sustainable income generating activities for their households, and the youth to invest enough time on education, which gives them the climate knowledge and the need to address the climate issues.

Malawi as a developing country is still undergoing social reforms on household responsibilities which has an effect on participation in climate related issues. In most marginalized communities, women and the youth do not contribute in activities that address climate issues but are usually destroying the environment with significant impacts. Women and the youth are responsible for fetching firewood at long distances. This has significantly reduced their time to focus on climate-related education and sustainable economic activities. 

Gaier Energy is dedicated to ensure that there is a good representation in climate issues by all people in communities, by providing briquettes which solve the insufficient clean energy issue that hinders women and the youth participation in climate movements.
