Women and Youth Empowerment - The organization tackles unemployment by challenging traditional job roles, making opportunities for women in the fabrication and construction industry. We have created over 170 jobs since inception, with more than a third being women. Currently, we have 26 full time jobs, more than 20 being below 30 years old, and 11 women. 

Community Engagement - Gjenge Makers actively engages with local communities by educating and involving them in recycling processes. We have conducted training for 48 ambassadors in Mukuru, which is an area affected by plastic waste, and the project fosters participation and environmental awareness.

Income Opportunities  - One of our main pillars is creation of decent jobs for underrepresented groups, mainly youth and women. Our operations help to uplift the economic status of not only our workers, but waste collectors and aggregators by providing a regular income stream that integrates them into a conservation drive that's sustainable and long lasting.

Skills and Capacity Building: Through training programs and on-the-job learning, the project builds the capacity of individuals in sustainable practices, thereby equipping them with skills that are valuable in the green economy.
