The Zero-Waste Schools Programme strategically empowers traditionally underrepresented groups within the climate movement, with a focused approach on children, Cape Town as a climate-vulnerable community, and people of colour.

The program is anchored in schools, directly engaging children in Cape Town. By providing environmental education, it not only imparts knowledge but also instils a sense of responsibility for waste management. This emphasis on education bridges the knowledge gap, empowering the younger generation to emerge as environmental stewards. Situated in Cape Town, a climate-vulnerable community facing escalating climate impacts like wildfires and flooding, the program strategically involves schools.
