The coastal community became highly vulnerable due to the depletion of mangrove patches in the river shores. Over grazing, uncontrolled parking of fishing boats & fishing nets, illicit fuel wood collection led to an adverse impact on the coastal mangrove patches.  Building an understanding on the benefits of mangrove species through this project resulted in a positive behaviour of the coastal community to mangrove restoration.
Since project inception, capacity building of local youth in understanding the hazard, vulnerability & capacity assessment (HVCA) of coastal community due to flood & cyclone and how the mangrove patches reduce their vulnerability etc, increases their confidence. 
The project includes, strengthening women in raising mangrove nurseries, mangrove plantation on the embankment and maintenance & management of the mangrove species led to a successful mangrove plantation model on embankment. 
Imparting training to the youth on understanding the species density and species frequency through quadrant method helps in mangrove species selection suitable for plantation. Apart from this, measurement of the amount of carbon stored in the mangrove plantation patches led to an ongoing participatory village decarbonization initiative through this project. 
 Coalition with local networks and likeminded organizations results in to develop a mangrove rescuing consensus.
