Based on field inspection and observations by IDCOL, it has been estimated that every SIP can directly benefit 35 farmers. Thus, direct beneficiaries of installing 3,000 SIPs by 2025 is estimated at 105,000 farmers. If we account for an average family size of 4.6 people per household, an assume that all household members directly benefit from increased availability of water for irrigation and the adoption of climate resilient agriculture and water management techniques, the total number of beneficiaries is 483,000 people. Given the population of the prioritized divisions in the 2021 census, the beneficiaries as a percentage of total population are 0.28 percent. Additionally, at least 7,000 people of vulnerable communities will be indirectly benefitted through water security and increased income of farming households.

Targeted consultations were held to consult with and engage women stakeholders in the design of the program. These consultations took place during the field visits to consult communities as well as the consultation event organized by IDCOL with several local organizations and women’s groups working in project target districts.
