itselectric's public charging model addresses key barriers drivers face when aspiring to drive electric. Lack of public charging infrastructure is the leading barrier to  EV adoption in the United States. (https://www.jdpower.com/business/press-releases/2022-us-electric-vehicle-experience-evx-public-charging-study). The same study found that access to public EV chargers varies geographically, with California and the Pacific region boasting the most public chargers in the US. This demonstrates on a national scale the problem that itselectric resolves in communities: presently, public chargers are only cost-effective in neighborhoods that already have relatively high EV penetration. Consequently, historically underserved and low-income communities have been left out of the EV charging equation. By making installation of EVSE less costly and time-consuming, we can afford to deploy charging stations in neighborhoods with low EV ownership and share revenue with host properties in order to encourage higher EV adoption in the future.
