Project Summary / Description:
Summary The project is aimed to create decent working conditions for 6000 women cotton pickers through eco-friendly sheds and women led tree plantation and environmental protection campaigns in district Matiari of Sindh Province of Pakistan. The T&C industry falls on women’s shoulders, but they remain poor and exploited; their health suffers from a hazardous working environment that involves excessive use of poisonous pesticides. The rising temperature of 49 centigrade has impacted badly on their health, labor productivity, and livelihoods. Occupational health safety is poor for these workers. Depletion of tree due to lack of sensitization of growers, they face server heat. The project is being implemented in 30 villages of District Matiari, one of the effected district by climate change impact due to deforestation of forest trees and floods. By installing 300 eco-friendly shads, and planting 10000 tree by women led climate literacy and mobilization campaign project will mitigate carbon emissions by changing the human behavior and practices to consume CP2. The impact will absorb the 480000 Pound/240ton of carbon dioxideCO2 by increase vegetation of 10000 trees. The reduction in the CO2 will increase air quality, reduce temperature and will maintain the biodiversity in the area. This will leave belter impact on the health of women agriculture workers and eco-friendly shades will increase the decent working conditions and also labor productivity during the picking. The mitigation will not only maintenance the bio-diversity but also social impact on the lives of 6000 women cotton workers. The project has positive social and environmental impacts .

How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
The impact will absorb the 480000 Pound/240ton of carbon dioxideCO2 by increase vegetation of 10000 trees. The reduction in the CO2 will increase air quality, reduce temperature and will maintain the biodiversity in the area . This will leave belter impact on the health of women agriculture workers and eco-friendly shades will increase the decent working conditions and also labor productivity during the picking. The mitigation will not only maintenance the bio-diversity but also also social impact on the lives of 6000 women cotton workers.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Through the actions we expected the results: 1. 300 eco-friendly shads are installed and utilized by 6000 women cotton workers against rising temperature during the cotton picking. Eco-friendly shades are widely promoted and other growers are adapting in their fields. This lead to the better occupational safety and health –decent work and climate change intersection. 2. 200 women are actively leading tree plantation and forestation campaign in agriculture as environmental leaders continued their work for green agriculture , decent work for women workers 3. 10000 Trees are planted , grown in fields of cotton , maintained better environment by change in behavior of 200 growers results tree plantation around the fields
