Mandala Agrifresh is dedicated to empowering rural farmers, particularly women, who are struggling to get market access due to post-harvest management challenges intensified by climate-related disruptions. Our company targets the pressing issue of post-harvest loss, exacerbated by rural farmers' inability to compete in the market due to high food loss during aggregation, transportation and storage. Situated far from markets and lacking access to effective technologies, rural farmers often face difficulties in transporting produce to the market. Climate-related disruptions, such as heavy rain and landslides, further compound these challenges, forcing farmers to discard harvested produce when traders are unable to reach them on time.

We have been facilitating the adoption of innovative packaging technologies to increase the shelf-life of fresh produce, both under ambient and cold storage conditions. By adopting our packaging technologies, farmers can reduce weight loss and damage, and keep their harvest fresh for longer enabling them to access and compete in the markets. Furthermore, we will provide farmers and traders with access to grading/sorting machines and provide them with assured market access. This will facilitate greater adoption of proper packaging practices, which will reduce food loss, enhance the resilience of supply chain, and decrease GHGs emissions.
