Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
I am part of the 776 Foundation Fellows program, which awards youth (ages 18-23) to start climate tech companies, non-profits, and projects full-time, dropping out of school or work to tackle this problem. I am also working with the Labstart program, which connects and mentors underrepresented minorities (Women, BIPOC) to commercialize lab-based intellectual property from universities or national labs. I hope I can be a role model and mentor to young, female, diverse, mission-driven entrepreneurs to enter this climate tech space. In terms of the scaling of the company, we are a manufacturing company and work with alot of construction companies. A goal of this company is to create local manufacturing jobs and stimulate economic development in the NY/NJ area and to do so equitably. One of our company values is to prioritize diversity and inclusion within our hiring process, setting standards for hiring across race and gender, and aiming to bring in mission-driven talent who care about making a difference in climate.
