Through transportation and electricity services, OX creates economic opportunities, empowers women, and promotes gender equality, fostering a more inclusive and safer community for all. OX establishes economic links between rural and urban areas, facilitating the inclusion of rural farmers and agro-dealers in larger economies, unlocking opportunities for growth and prosperity. A recent study by 60 Decibels found that 88% of our customers have improved their quality of life, 63% have decreased their weekly spending on transport, and 36% have grown their businesses. Our inclusive approach benefits both women and men, ensuring equal access to markets and resources. The same study found that 45% of OX Rwanda customers are female, and 49% of all customers are located in rural areas. This illustrates the potential of empowering traditionally underrepresented and underserved communities. 

At OX level itself, the recruitment process has gender balance as a key target. We have so far achieved 40% female 60% male, with new recruitment aiming at achieving a 50/50 split. OX has also introduced policies aimed at aimed at the safety of our drivers, particularly at night and in high-risk areas. OX has extensive training programmes for all employees, promoting development of crucial skills in the local economy.

OX aims to provide a clean alternative to the end-of-life and emission heavy vehicles that currently serve this client base by developing a purpose build electric vehicle enabled transport-as-a-service offering, aimed at underserved communities.
