Project Summary / Description:
Renerlite is a compact solar generator designed to power remote work in Nigeria. In 2020 when everyone was required to work from home because of the lockdown, In a country like Nigeria, reality hit as many companies stuggleD with operation due to the fact that most of their employees had little to know access to reliable power at home. We launched our product, Renerlite and has since powered several tech developers and professionals who work remotely and now we're taking things even further by creating an Uber for power model where a customer doesn't have to own Renerlite before having access to it as a solar generator, they can order as simply as they order a ride and in few minutes, they can have power to run their appliances at home or at work.

How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
Most people depend on gasoline generator when there's lack of electricity supply. A study showed that over 40% of homes in Nigeria own and use generators for their daily energy need while over 80% of business in Nigeria depend on gasoline and diesel generators for their energy need. With our Uber for power model, barrier to transitioning to solar which is the upfront cost is removed and many can now order solar generators ondemand and have access to clean, quiet electricity supply
Sustainable Development Goals:
No poverty
Zero hunger
Health and wellbeing
Quality education
Gender equality
Clean water and sanitation
Affordable and clean energy
Decent work and economic growth
Industry innovation and infrastructure
Reduced inequalities
Sustainable cities and communities
Responsible consumption and production
Climate action
Life below water
Life on land
Peace and justice
Partnerships for the goals
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Renerlite Classic is a compact solar energy solution that uses solar power to generate eletricity supply required to power various gadgets like Laptop, phones, Internet devices used for remote work and this solution was built for the Tech community in Nigeria. The Nigerian Tech community is mostly comprised of mainly youths who are equipped with one Tech skill or the other. Providing the much needed power for them to work is basically we reaching out to a group of underrepresented people in the climate movment. Our product being plug and play even makes our solution interesting as it requires very little technical know how to deploy. This has made it possible for us to deploy our solution across 18 states in Nigeria reaching even youths in offgrid regions in Nigeria. We have this strong resolve that everyone deserves equal access to growth and powering youths for growth and productivity whilst building a sustainable business has been a very amazing one for us at Renerworld.
