What excites me about my role at Rethread Africa is that the work we do is making a real difference. You see, we're all about empowering those who often don't get heard in the climate conversation. Our project is deeply rooted in working with smallholder farmers, and guess what? Most of them are women and people of color. We're not just giving them jobs; we're bringing them into the heart of a movement that's bigger than any of us – fighting climate change. And it's not just about the grown-ups. We're super passionate about getting young folks involved too. They're the future, right? By teaching them sustainable ways, we're kindling a spark of change that'll last for generations. Plus, we're right there, in the thick of it, with communities who feel the brunt of climate change the most. Our project is like a beacon of hope, showing that even in the toughest spots, we can make things better – for the planet and for our people. It's all about lifting each other up, giving a voice to the voiceless, and making sure everyone's part of this journey towards a greener, kinder world.
