The community are grouped into an assembly of farmers that elect themselves the community landscape committee. The elected committee is to be trained about some important restoration activities to be part of the planning, implementation, and evaluation team. The objective is to make sure that a big portion of the budget stays in the hands of the target community for livelihood purposes and also to make sure that the same community is embarked with restoration skills to ensure the sustainability of restoration works even after the termination of the project.  In general, both skilled and unskilled manpower are recruited from the local community, apart from unavailable specialized skills outsourced. The project would alleviate the burden on women and young children who currently spend significant time and effort collecting firewood for cooking and fetching water from a distance. With the availability of firewood from the planted trees, water from tanks and fodder; they would have more time for other productive activities within their households, leading to increased productivity and well-being.
The project's focus on empowering rural unemployed women and youth ensures that they are directly involved in the restoration efforts and benefit from the long-term economic and social outcomes.
