Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The underrepresented in the climate movement are empowered in our project in the following ways: 1. In refugee settlements, we look for donors willing to subsidize integrated solar cooking appliances so that beneficiaries pay less than than the market price. 2. Many vulnerable young women volunteer to work in our production facility and get the efficient cooking appliances at cost price without paying any money or payment is in kind. We have a Solar Cooking Restaurant in Kaberebere where solar cooked food is served for free every Sunday between 1.00pm and 2.00PM to street kids. We have a Revolving Fund that enables women who want to pay in installments for their solar cookers or hay baskets and solar dryers. This enourages all sorts of people to afford a renewable energy applaince for cooking food.
