Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
We prioritize the tropical dry forest biome, specifically the Dry Chaco ecoregion, known for its significant marginalization in Argentina, Paraguay, and Bolivia regarding poverty and well-being. Ranchers face severe climatic challenges, enduring droughts or floods every three years over the past two decades, heightening their vulnerability to climate impacts. Moreover, recurring financial crises in Argentina limit long-term investment opportunities for many farmers, worsening their susceptibility to climate crises. With 70% of ranching occurring in landscapes with over 50% natural woodland, the region plays a crucial role in balancing food production and ecosystem services, surpassing agriculture in importance. Various studies on biodiversity and carbon measurement indicate semi-natural ranching as more effective in balancing conservation and food production in the Dry Chaco
