Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Focus on Women: We ensure gender inclusivity by reserving 60% of our support and resources for female entrepreneurs. This deliberate approach addresses the gender gap in climate and social entrepreneurship, empowering women to lead and innovate in these critical areas. Support for Youth: Recognizing the vital role of young people in driving change, Ukuzola provides a platform for youth-led initiatives, encouraging innovative thinking and action among the younger generation, who are often the most affected by climate change. Community Engagement in Climate-Vulnerable Regions: Operating in Central Africa, a region highly vulnerable to climate impacts, our project directly supports local communities in developing resilience and adaptive solutions to climate challenges. Diverse Representation: We strive for diversity in our cohort of entrepreneurs, ensuring that people of color and those from various socio-economic backgrounds are represented and supported. This diversity enriches the pool of ideas and solutions, making them more relevant and effective. Capacity Building and Mentorship: Through mentorship and capacity building, we equip underrepresented entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to succeed, thereby strengthening their voice and impact in the climate movement.
