Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The WEEE Centre prioritizes inclusivity by actively engaging and empowering traditionally underrepresented groups in the climate movement. Our initiatives have reached over 6000 youth and women, both in rural and urban areas of Kenya. We conduct training programs, providing skills and knowledge in e-waste management, creating green jobs, and fostering community awareness. By involving women and youth and persons with disabilities, we break gender and age barriers, ensuring diverse representation in sustainable practices. Additionally, our engagement with communities in areas like Turkana, Samburu, and Kajiado emphasizes inclusivity, considering the unique challenges faced by climate-vulnerable communities. We believe that as these communities actively participate in eco-friendly practices and witness tangible benefits, advocacy for carbon reduction and sustainable practices will naturally spread, contributing to a more resilient and inclusive society.
