Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project is deeply committed to inclusivity, actively empowering traditionally underrepresented groups in the climate movement. Through targeted initiatives, we elevate the voices and roles of women, youth, and climate-vulnerable communities in Blantyre, Lilongwe, Thyolo, and Zomba districts of Malawi. Women are pivotal in our perma-green workshops, gaining skills in sustainable agriculture and leadership. Youth engagement is central to our curriculum integration in schools, fostering a new generation of environmental stewards. We prioritize collaboration with indigenous and vulnerable communities, tailoring solutions to their unique needs. Permaculture provides climate solutions by enhancing biodiversity, sequestering carbon, and conserving water. Simultaneously, it achieves food security through year-round harvests, natural pest control, soil health improvement, and the reduction of gas emissions. By creating permaculture hubs accessible to all, irrespective of socio-economic backgrounds, we promote inclusivity and knowledge-sharing. This approach ensures that our project not only addresses climate challenges but also actively works towards a more equitable and sustainable future for all members of the community. Through these deliberate efforts, we are dismantling barriers, fostering diverse participation, and ensuring that the benefits of climate resilience extend to those who have historically been marginalized in the broader environmental discourse.

Mission Statement:
YOBO engages youth, women, and indigenous communities in Permaculture training. We promote sustainable agri-nutrition, organic manure, and resilient food systems, aligning with the SDGs. This includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions via natural permaculture methods, zero fertilizers, waste conversion to manure, and emphasizing plant-based food and rainwater harvesting for sustainable practices.
