ACUA Ocean's USV Pioneer empowers underrepresented groups, particularly those in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) like the Maldives and Seychelles. These nations, highly vulnerable to climate change and IUU fishing, lack the resources for consistent marine monitoring. 


The Pioneer offers cost-effective, year-round surveillance, enabling these communities to:


Safeguard marine resources: Monitoring capacity offered by our vessel serve to protect against Illegal Unregulated or Unmonitored (IUU) fishing activity, strengthening their sovereignty over their most valuable asset.


Adapt to climate change: Collect data on ecosystem health, informing crucial planning for both people and the environment. Such data collection by crewed research vessels may be prohibitively costly previously, providing access to information that can inform regional decisions through climate change modelling.


By providing these nations with the tools and data to manage their marine environment, the Pioneer directly empowers underrepresented communities in the climate movement.
