Primary Project Category:
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
KEUR empowers underrepresented groups in the climate movement, particularly women, youth, and climate-vulnerable communities in Africa, by amplifying their voices and showcasing solutions rooted in their realities. The project’s narrative centers on African traditions, such as clay construction, promoting local knowledge and practices often overlooked in mainstream climate discussions. Through art, KEUR creates an inclusive platform for dialogue, where these groups can connect with relatable, culturally relevant solutions. Also, women play a central role in KEUR. The project is led by Taman Mhoumadi, a woman of Comorian and French descent, who is deeply committed to climate innovation and representation. Additionally, the performers, choreographers, and production team include a majority of women, highlighting their vital contributions to climate advocacy and the arts, and within the show, women are key needle movers of the story. Youth are also key stakeholders as all members of the team are under 35 – except for Wesley as artistic advisor and 7 people out of 8 are under 30 years old. Therefore, we carry an inclusive approach and represent a diverse team to properly empower and represent underrepresented groups needed to shape the future of climate actions in Africa.
