Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

We target smallholder farmers between the ages of 18-55 years. 75% are either illiterate or semi-illiterate. Our technology is affordable and makes these farmers adaptive and resilient to climate change. 

Our solar-powered IoT device scans crop leaves and stems to detect crop pests and diseases early to stop crop losses. Additionally, it conducts soil health analysis both at root and ground levels to accurately get over 15 soil parameters; pH, NPK, soil nutrient levels, moisture and temperature. These data are then integrated with satellite imagery for 97%+ accurate reports sent to farmers via SMS/FarmPulse App.

The sensor monitors crops and soils 24/7 and keeps the farmers updated. It detects 1500 pests and 1400 diseases in real-time and provides tailored interventions.

We integrate indigenous knowledge in the product design and service delivery. Further, the reports/alerts to farmers are translated into local languages for easier interpretation.
Farmers reduce the cost of farm inputs by 63% and increase crop yields by up to 75% per hectare annually.

It includes a Crop Yield Prediction Tool used by farmers as collateral to acquire loans from banks. For example, 3,903 women farmers have used the tool to get USD237400 from Vision Afrika Sacco in 6 months.
