At Akatale, we use the power of AI-technology to modify Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae to organically, sustainably, and effectively turn tons of waste into valuable products including organic fertilizers and animal feeds for sustainable farming, biopolymers for sustainable
packaging, and biodiesel for clean energy. Our AI powered system is used in the genetic modification of BSF-larvae and monitor the process, allowing them to process large amounts of waste in just five days.

Akatale actively empowers underrepresented groups in the climate movement by focusing on youth, women, and climate-vulnerable communities. Currently, 80% of our team comprises youth, reflecting our commitment to fostering the next generation of climate leaders. Of this, 51% are women, highlighting our dedication to gender equity in addressing climate challenges.

We prioritize creating stable employment opportunities and leadership roles for women and young people, enabling them to actively participate in waste management, recycling, and agricultural regeneration initiatives. By addressing the economic and social barriers often faced by these groups, we help build their capacity and confidence to lead change in their communities.
