How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project empowers underrepresented groups, particularly women, widows marginalized communities, and youth, by actively engaging them in both the implementation and management of biochar production and biomass waste collection. Women and youth, especially from climate-vulnerable areas, are central to our efforts, as they often bear the brunt of climate change’s impacts. By involving them in sustainable agriculture, waste management, and biochar production, we provide economic opportunities, skills training, and leadership roles, enabling them to drive change within their communities. In our organization, women, widows, youth, and marginalized groups are represented at all levels of leadership and decision-making. Our leadership team includes individuals with deep expertise in gender inclusion, environmental sustainability, and community-driven solutions. The project is designed to foster inclusive participation, with a focus on amplifying the voices of those most affected by climate change, including people with disabilities and non-binary individuals. We prioritize community-based leadership development through mentorship programs and capacity-building workshops. This ensures that those involved not only benefit from the project’s outcomes but also become active agents of change in their communities. By addressing both the environmental and social dimensions of climate change, our project aims to empower underrepresented groups and strengthen their resilience.
