Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our team is proud to be uniquely diverse for a clean tech company. We our 50% BIPOC with 25% of our entire team and 50% of our leadership team being women. We try to celebrate and welcome all people at Carbon Upcycling. We regularly have cultural days where we celebrate events like Eid with food and a presentation on what the holiday means. We also have inclusive holiday hours where employees can choose to take their typical holiday winter break during a different time in the year. 
In terms of community engagement, our team is highly involved with students. We are an annual sponsor of the Carbon Removal Challenge hosted at New York University, a global competition for post-secondary students to create and share their carbon tech ideas. We work closely with the University of Calgary’s Fuse Collective to mentor students wishing to enter the field of sustainability. We also work with Inside Education, which brings groups of high school students to facilities across Canada to experience leading technology.
Most recently, our team has been working on initiatives to become better community partners. We recently participated in a community clean-up and collected donations for the local women’s shelter.
