How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
ChakraTech is deeply committed to pushing the boundaries of technology while using it as a powerful driver of social change. This commitment is rooted in the experience of our founder, Dr. Ravi Chawla, who grew up in a rural town in India and witnessed firsthand the devastating impacts of climate change—poor air quality that made breathing difficult and plastic waste clogging drains, causing flooding. These experiences drive our mission to create scalable, global, and economically feasible solutions that are accessible to developing countries. We empower underrepresented groups in the climate movement by embedding equity into our mission, operations, and impact. Our leadership team includes women, people of color, immigrants, and minorities, ensuring traditionally marginalized voices shape our innovations. Our technology directly addresses the disproportionate impact of greenhouse gas emissions and plastic pollution on climate-vulnerable communities, reducing environmental inequities and improving lives where it’s most needed. We partner with organizations to offer internships, mentorships, and skill-building opportunities in STEM for marginalized groups, creating a pipeline for youth, women, and underserved professionals. By establishing production facilities in emerging economies, we aim to create jobs, reduce emissions, and drive equity in the fight against climate change.
