Chanzi focuses on a candidate’s ability to perform a job, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender & national origin. Our hiring strategy is straightforward.
At our MRF, 80% of the staff are women, most of whom were previously waste pickers. By assisting them with mechanized waste sorting processes, each worker can now sort over 1000 kg of waste per day, creating more value and keeping an additional 600 MT out of landfills each month. 
We have a commitment to hire at least 50% of women to take up the 31 farm operator jobs that will be created once the new greenhouses are erected.
Chanzi is making sure we empower women, as our Arusha site manager, Mayasa Mhina, and project manager, Beatrice Ngunjiri, collaborate together to ensure that we turn Arusha into a zero-waste city. Women serve as site managers, farm operators, waste sorters, data analysts, and project managers. Also, 90% of our employees are younger than 35 years old, representing the youth in Africa.
