Project Summary / Description:
The CCE Hub Latin America is driven by CleantechHUB and PVBLIC to promote early-stage climate solutions and sustainable ventures, starting in Colombia, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. Over time, this initiative will expand across South America and the Caribbean Basin, focusing on ideation, incubation, and acceleration. This project is part of the U.S. State Department's Coalition for Climate Entrepreneurship (CCE), a public-private partnership aimed at addressing the climate crisis and contributing to economic empowerment in developing countries by fostering entrepreneurship focused on climate solutions.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The CCE Hub initiative places a strong emphasis on empowering women in entrepreneurship, recognizing their critical role in driving innovative climate solutions. Women-led startups are a key focus of our programs, and we actively work to ensure gender diversity across all stages, from ideation to acceleration. By creating inclusive opportunities and offering tailored support, we aim to break down the barriers women face in the entrepreneurial and climate innovation ecosystems. Within the CCE Hub, women also play a vital role in leadership and decision-making, ensuring that their perspectives shape the direction and impact of our initiatives. Our mentorship programs include experienced women leaders who provide guidance and serve as role models for the next generation of entrepreneurs. Additionally, we foster partnerships with organizations and networks that specialize in supporting women in business and sustainability, further amplifying their reach and success. Through these efforts, the CCE Hub not only equips women entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed but also contributes to building a more equitable and diverse climate movement in Latin America. Empowering women as leaders in this space is central to achieving long-term sustainability and creating transformative climate solutions.
