How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Emergi empowers women and youth in Liberia by providing access to sustainable livelihood opportunities through training and employment as drivers of electric tuk-tuks. Women, often underrepresented in both the transportation sector and the climate movement, make up the majority of our driver cohort, ensuring that they benefit directly from climate-positive solutions. Emergi also engages youth by offering technical training in electric vehicle maintenance and solar-powered charging systems, equipping them with skills for the green economy. Additionally, we work with climate-vulnerable communities in Liberia, creating affordable and eco-friendly transportation solutions that reduce dependence on polluting fuels, and improve air quality. These groups are at the core of Emergi’s operations and leadership structure.
