Primary Project Category:
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Since our establishment in 2011, Everybody Solar has been at the forefront of empowering groups underrepresented in the climate movement. Our organization was founded on a commitment to addressing the energy disparities faced by underserved communities, including people of color, and youth in environmentally vulnerable regions that often lack the resources to adopt clean energy solutions. Driven by the belief in the transformative power of solar energy, Everybody Solar is dedicated to creating sustainable change for those in need. We have partnered with nonprofits such as Buckhorn Children and Family Services, which provides care for severely abused and neglected children in Kentucky, and One Spirit Allen Youth & Community Center, which supports over 4,000 Lakota children, youth, and community members on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, one of the nation’s poorest areas. By providing solar installations at no cost, we enable these organizations to significantly reduce energy expenses, allowing them to direct more resources toward critical services like housing, education, and healthcare. Our focus on supporting nonprofits that serve underrepresented groups amplifies their impact while promoting environmental justice and sustainability, ensuring these communities have a stronger voice in combating climate change.
