Primary Project Category:
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Fenix actively empowers underrepresented groups in the climate movement, particularly small-scale farmers and rural communities, who often lack access to sustainable waste management and soil-enhancing technologies. By transforming agricultural residues into biochar through localized pyrolysis units, we provide these groups with affordable tools to improve soil fertility, reduce input costs, and participate in carbon markets, fostering economic resilience and climate action. Internally, Fenix intends to promote diversity by collaborating with local stakeholders, including women-led agricultural cooperatives, indigenous groups, and smallholder organizations, with the aim of ensuring their voices shape the solutions we develop. Our team seeks to actively engage with these communities through capacity-building workshops and technical assistance, promoting the inclusive adoption of biochar technology.

Mission Statement:
To transform the challenges and risks associated with organic waste management into opportunities to create value, foster social development, and accelerate climate action. This is achieved through the production of biochar, a solution that captures carbon, enhances soil quality, and promotes a circular economy in Chile and Latin America.
