Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

FORESLAB empowers underrepresented groups in the climate movement through its inclusive approach to reforestation and plant biotechnology. The co-founders, Katya and Bianca, are young women who have led the venture with a technical focus on biotechnology and conservation. They both lead the organization with a strong vision to generate positive change in rural and native communities, particularly in the Peruvian Amazon, where the impacts of climate change are more pronounced.

Additionally, FORESLAB works closely with young researchers, providing them opportunities to develop their skills through projects on plant biotechnology and ecological restoration. This initiative also creates local employment in native communities, empowering them by involving them in the restoration and sustainable management of their ecosystems. Communities, traditionally vulnerable, are trained in agroforestry and analog forestry practices, promoting active participation in the conservation of their territories.

In this way, FORESLAB not only contributes to ecological sustainability but also gives visibility and leadership to underrepresented groups in the fight against climate change, empowering local communities and the new generation of scientists.
