How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project empowers climate-vulnerable communities, women, and youth in the Usambara region, where 70% of farmers are women and 60% are under 35. These groups face disproportionate climate impacts due to limited access to resources, training, and economic opportunities. Empowering Women (40%): We prioritize women-led farms for training in regenerative agriculture, equipping them with climate-smart farming techniques and financial literacy skills. This approach increases crop yields by 20% and boosts household incomes by 25%, directly enhancing women’s economic independence and resilience. Youth Engagement (30%): We target unemployed youth for roles in land rehabilitation, farm management, and carbon monitoring. By providing green job opportunities and agroecological skills, we enable sustainable employment and entrepreneurship for young people. Community Inclusion (30%): We prioritize climate-vulnerable communities by giving them access to climate-resilient farming techniques that improve food security and reduce economic inequalities. Community members play active roles in project planning and decision-making, fostering long-term ownership and sustainability. Our leadership team reflects this inclusivity, with 33% of senior roles held by women (Managing Director) and strong representation from local communities. This structure ensures the voices of marginalized groups are integrated into project design and implementation.
