['Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
First, GCV is led by a female founder, with a couple of senior roles in the organization held by women. Our projects also generate multiple co-benefits i.e., enabling increased energy access, creating green jobs that benefit local communities: Increased energy access: • Kenya has significant renewable energy resources but lacks sustained high base-load demand energy to warrant development of new energy generation projects • Our energy-intensive DAC projects can support in catalyzing new energy generation projects by serving as anchor load enabling supply of additional power to local communities and/or the national grid thus spur reduced energy costs Creating green jobs: • Building DAC projects and ecosystem of decarbonization industries will catalyze creation of new direct and indirect jobs across multiple supply chains including renewable energy generation, civil infrastructure and project site development, plant operation & maintenance et al. thus improving livelihoods of many Kenyans and contributing to greater development impact as compared with the status quo
