Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

GreenBox is working with smallholder women farmers Rural communities, Refugees and immigrants in Congo to create solar-powered cold storage warehouses for them so that they can store the perishable produce they grow right on the farm after harvest. This will reduce their tendency to sell produce at any price on the same day of harvest and thus help them market their produce on days of high prices and high demand.
Now, they are selling produce at optimal prices instead of desperately selling for fear of their food spoiling. This access to cheaper fresh food has also reduced malnutrition among consumers at the bottom of the pyramid.
In addition, the GreenBox ™️ project has participated in mentoring and training 500 young women, Indigenous peoples in the field of renewable energy. Through a program called “Teach One, Teach One,” they are providing rural youth with practical technical and design skills. They teach them how to use, maintain and repair equipment, such as the GreenBox™️, powered by renewable energy for agriculture.
Creating jobs for women
Our goal is to hire primarily women to manage operations and revenue collection at GreenBox stations.
