How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Heny Farm actively empowers underrepresented groups, particularly women, youth, and climate-vulnerable communities, through employment, training, and affordable access to sustainable farming solutions. Women: Over 40% of our workforce comprises women, with leadership roles in operations and veterinary services. We provide women in rural areas with affordable organic feeds and training to start small-scale farming businesses, fostering economic independence. Youth: Heny Farm engages youth by offering training in climate-smart agriculture, equipping them with skills for sustainable livelihoods. We partner with educational institutions to mentor young entrepreneurs in sustainable farming practices. Climate-Vulnerable Communities: By providing organic farming solutions and low-cost inputs, we help rural farmers adopt sustainable practices that mitigate climate risks, improve productivity, and reduce environmental impact. Representation Within the Organization Our leadership team reflects diversity, with key roles held by women and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds. We prioritize inclusivity by hiring locally and ensuring equal opportunities for all.
